Jennifer gave us a tour of the Hotline’s call center, where we learned more about states that are under-engaged in reporting human trafficking. We also had a great discussion about how The FREE Project and the Hotline can work together to increase awareness among college students. We already have awesome wallet cards, but there’s so much more we can do. We can’t wait to get started!GW Visits National Hotline

Winter Clothing Drive is a HUGE Success https://www.thefreeproject.org/2012/12/12/winter-clothing-drive-is-a-huge-success/ Wed, 12 Dec 2012 15:58:01 +0000 http://www.thefreeproject.org/?p=30 TFP at GW collected, sorted and donated over $18,000 worth of clothing from GW students to Courtney’s House. Tina Frundt, survivor of child sex trafficking, and Tami Fenno, Director of Operations, were thrilled with the generous support. CH rescues survivors off the streets and in the cold winter months the children arrive with no long pants, coats, hats or gloves to stay warm. Donations included over 90 pairs of jeans, 49 sweaters and 27 coats! Way to go, GW!!

Summer Awareness Campaign https://www.thefreeproject.org/2012/07/15/summer-awareness-campaign/ Sun, 15 Jul 2012 16:06:32 +0000 http://www.thefreeproject.org/?p=45 Summer Awareness Campaign, GWYou’d think campus would be empty during the summer, but we were surprised to see how many peeps were in town working internships and taking classes. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity to hit up our classmates while they were less distracted than during the regular school year, and chat with them about modern slavery. Turned out this was a great idea! We got a chance to have in-depth and candid conversations with our friends while letting them know this is a big issue — not just overseas, but right here on our very own campus. And that inspired us to create our new campaign, Make GW a Slavery-Free Campus. Wait til you see what’s coming next!
